On June 9th, the Safe
Harbor Child
Advocacy Center
will be holding a “Raisin’ the Roof” party at the
Music Road Hotel & Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. And, you are
invited to attend for an evening of fun with dinner, dancing and great silent
and live auction items.

basketball team, will be the guest speaker. Jay Adams of Mix 105.5 will
be the master of ceremonies joining Pat Summitt for
the evening. Festivities begin at 6:30pm and conclude at 11:30pm. Attire is dressy but not black tie.

453-2638. The cost is a $100 per person donation to Safe Harbor, with tables seating
eight.
“Proceeds raised from this
event will literally be used to ‘raise the roof’ on Safe
Harbor’s first facility to serve child-victims of severe abuse in
Tennessee’s 4th Judicial District, comprised of Cocke,
Grainger, Jefferson & Sevier counties”, notes Barry Fain, president of Safe Harbor’s board
of directors. “We are very grateful for this year’s
sponsors”, adds Donna Koester, Safe Harbor’s
executive director, “Without their generosity, none of this would be
possible.” Sponsors, to date, for this year’s event

In one twelve month period, the 4th
Judicial District recorded 5,334 total cases of confirmed
abuse/neglect. That total broke down to 1,118 in Cocke County, 567 in Grainger County, 1,561 in Jeffersonand
2,088 in Sevier
County. Safe
Harbor’s efforts
will be designed to assist investigators and prosecutors
in building a solid case against perpetrators, while still following up with
the family to help coordinate the post-trauma counseling to return the
child-victim and non-offending family members to a more optimal level of
functioning.
